Flora
Puszcza Bia這wieska is one of the most precious
places in Europe from the point of view of the rich flora. It has
features of a lowland primeval forest, which does not exist in any
other part of Europe any more...
The forest flora
consists of over 5000 species of plants, including ca. 1 thousand
vessel plants (which constitutes ca 40% of all the plants of this
type in Poland). Such a richness is caused especially with a
transitory character of plant collections (from various parts of
Europe). Besides there is also a great variety of settlement types
of forests of a natural species’ composition, first of all
dry-ground forests (47%). Moreover there can be also encountered
mixed forests, spruce-trees, marshy meadows, and alder carrs.
